A tiny puppy wrapped in a custom sweater probably isn’t the image that comes to mind when thinking about a dog abandoned on the side of a road. Yet that’s exactly why a video shared by @pleaseronan is making so many people smile.
The video follows CBJCR — short for Carlito Juanito Benito Counihan Robles — a rescue dog whose story could have gone very differently. Instead, it turned into the happiest of endings. The video is funny, a little emotional, and ultimately tells us that sometimes the worst beginning can lead to a remarkably good life.

The Instagram reel features Carlito relaxing comfortably in Ronan’s arms while his dad delivers a playful message on his behalf. According to Ronan, the dog was abandoned near Bakersfield, California, when he was only three weeks old. Fast forward a few months, and life looks very different for the little pup.
As Ronan proudly explains, Carlito now lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and at just 16 weeks old already owns a custom knit sweater. Not just one sweater, either. Eight of them. Since he’s still too young to walk freely outside, he enjoys New York adventures from the comfort of a tote bag. He gets plenty of fresh air, regular puppuccinos, peanut butter treats, and even custom dog food.
The list keeps getting better. Carlito sleeps in a king-size bed with linen sheets and has multiple day beds of his own throughout the house. He has hundreds of toys, plenty of friends, and what Ronan jokingly describes as a bustling social life.
The cutest bit is watching Carlito’s expression while his dad talks. He sits quietly, occasionally glancing up at him as if he fully agrees with every word being said. Ronan ends the message on a surprisingly sweet note. After listing all the things that the dog now enjoys, he thanks the person who abandoned him for unknowingly putting him on the path to a better life.
As of the time of writing, this rescue dog video has already earned more than 167,000 likes, with viewers cheering for the puppy’s happy ending. One commenter summed up the mood perfectly, saying, “May every abandoned pet end up with a life like this.”
