Custard, a rescue dog, is “reactive,” making it slightly difficult for the owners to bring another pup home. However, after months of intense training, when the pet parents finally decided to bring a puppy home, they were amazed to see Custard’s reaction. After a brief interaction, the rescue dog chose to sleep with the little puppy, leaving their parents emotional.

This Romanian rescue dog named Custard was “reactive” when the parents first bought him home. However, as per a clip, the rescue told them that the Golden Retriever “NEVER had any problems with other dogs, in fact – he really quite liked them. However, his reactivity and signs of aggression since travelling to the UK” made the parents think “otherwise.”

That is why when the parents “planned to foster (with a view to adopt) another rescue from abroad,” they thought a “rescue may not be right for Custard, especially as he has come so far with his nervousness.” However, after “intense training with Custy and lots of thought,” the owners “decided to welcome a Basset Hound puppy,” Moose, to their home.

Going by their recent video, it seems Custard is now finally liking the idea of having some furry company. The Instagram Reel shows the furballs slowly “getting closer to each other,” with Custard sitting near Moose and looking at the pup from a distance.

However, what amazed the pet parents was Custard “choosing to sleep next to” Moose at night, as if making sure the pup feels safe and secure while sleeping. “I think it’s safe to say that Custard is starting to quite like” Moose, the parents mentioned in the caption.

And the netizens could not agree more, as a person said, “This is so lovely to see.” Another added, “So proud of you, Custard.” A third applauds the giant pup, saying, “Aww well done cutie.”
