Pancake (or Pan for short) is currently breaking the internet with a performance that would make his wild ancestors proud. He is one half of the famous duo over at @henrythecoloradodog, and his latest adventure took place high up on a hill under a stunning full moon. It was actually a super moon. This makes the backdrop very clear and bright. And Pan decided it was time to reconnect with his ancestry. This dog is definitely living out a “wolf dream.”
Dog gets to live his ‘wolf dream’ with howls during full moon
The video shows Pan sitting perfectly still against a cloudless blue sky, and the giant glowing orb is positioned right behind his head. It truly looks like a once-in-a-lifetime shot. His dad is standing nearby but takes a few steps back to stay out of the frame. He wants to let him have his moment.
Pan points his nose straight toward the sky and lets out a long howl. He looks like he knows he is the center of attention in what someone in the comment called “his natural habitat. “ This vocal behavior makes sense when you look at his family tree. Pan is a mixed breed with some Husky on his mom’s side. That specific lineage is famous for being very chatty.
Domestic pups still carry that ancient urge to communicate using howls. One viewer even mentioned that they would make this their wallpaper forever. Someone else called it a magical scene. Another fan joked that Pan just knows he is the star of this shot, and he isn’t worried about anything else in the world.
The clip has already earned over 157,000 likes and a million views. People are obsessed with his little tail wags in between the howls. “His little tail wags… & it was a super moon too,” his owner noted in the caption. The lighting is absolutely perfect as well. One commenter hoped that someone got still photos of the moment. We hope so, too; they would truly be frame-worthy.
