A blind puppy named Biscuit Snuggles has become the focus of a heartfelt appeal from Orange County Animal Services, which recently shared a video highlighting his search for a forever home. The clip introduces viewers to the eight-month-old puppy while he carefully navigates the shelter environment. As Biscuit moves around, he occasionally bumps into objects, relying on sounds and scents to find his way and make sense of his surroundings. Despite his limited vision, the young dog remains eager to connect with the people and animals around him.
Blind shelter puppy, abandoned by family, wants to be noticed in a world he can’t see
According to the shelter, Biscuit was “found alone” outside a stranger’s grandmother’s home. Staff said he appeared to be trying to get inside the house when he was discovered. Although he entered the shelter as a stray, several details suggested he had once belonged to a family.
The shelter reflected on how confusing and frightening that experience may have been for a young dog. In a lengthy caption, staff described a scenario in which a puppy leaves home expecting a routine outing, only to be abandoned and left behind. While they cannot know exactly what happened to Biscuit, they noted that the possibility is especially heartbreaking given that he is blind.
Veterinarians quickly determined that Biscuit either cannot see at all or has very limited vision. Even so, shelter employees say he has adapted remarkably well. Rather than appearing frightened by the noises around him, he has become one of the happiest dogs in their care.
The video shows Biscuit interacting affectionately with other shelter dogs. What’s more, staff say he genuinely enjoys being around both people and animals. Once he learns the layout of an area, he runs and plays like any other puppy his age.
What stands out most, however, is his affectionate personality. He loves curling up beside people, climbing into laps and soaking up attention whenever he can. True to his name, Biscuit Snuggles is happiest when he is snuggling.
At the time the video was posted, Biscuit had been waiting at the shelter for a week without being adopted. By sharing his story, staff hoped to make sure the sweet puppy is seen by more people and, ultimately, matched with a family willing to appreciate the loving companion he already is.
