Before leaving Odi and Charli alone with Grandpa, their human had one simple request: please remember boundaries and personal space. But did they heed the request? The now-viral video, shared by @baileyandodin, shows the two rescue dogs looking as if they are taking the briefing very seriously. Odi rests his face against Charli’s back, and Charli stares straight ahead. For a moment, it genuinely looks like the message has landed. Then Grandpa arrives, and every single rule immediately goes out the window.
Dogs shower grandpa with a little too much love
The viral reel starts with what looks like a serious family meeting as their human reminds them that Grandpa will be babysitting. The on-screen message asks them to remember boundaries and personal space. Both dogs stare back with the kind of expression that suggests complete understanding. Then the video cuts to reality.
Instead of respecting Grandpa’s space, both dogs immediately climb all over him. They’re pressed against his shoulders, licking his nose, sniffing his face, and wagging their tails like they’ve just reunited after years apart. Charli even glances back toward the camera at one point, looking suspiciously pleased with herself. Odi, meanwhile, continues with the kisses.
In another clip, Odi sprawls directly across Grandpa’s chest and face while they’re relaxing on a bed. Grandpa can barely be seen underneath him, yet he keeps petting the happy Pit Bull mix anyway. Nobody appears concerned, least of all Odi.
We also see Grandpa sitting in a chair while Charli, the mini Dachshund, stands nose-to-nose with him, completely focused on his face. Neither seems interested in moving as they simply stay there together, enjoying each other’s love and attention.
The dogs, the grandpa, and the video clearly struck a chord online. As of the time of writing, the clip racked up more than 95,000 likes, and viewers had plenty to say. One person joked that “personal space is a myth.” Another wrote that Grandpa was exactly where he wanted to be. Several others pointed out what the footage makes pretty obvious: these dogs absolutely adore their grandpa, and the feeling seems very mutual.
