Penny, a 2-year-old Toy Poodle, is as sassy as a tiny dog can be while asking her mom for playtime, and she is not shy about it. A hilarious Instagram video from @tinypennyy shows the tiny dog marching up to her toy, picking it up in her mouth, dropping it hard on the floor, and then standing back and staring at her mom like she just needs some reaction to her sassy behavior. The on-screen caption reads, “POV: you have the sassiest dog,” and it is hard to argue with that.

The pup does not stop at one dramatic drop, either. She picks the toy back up in her mouth and slams it down again — and as she keeps going, her mom cannot help but laugh at her antics. She says, “She’s so sassy, your daughter is giving me so much—,” but before she can even finish the sentence, Penny grabs the toy and throws it down again, barking and fixing her eyes on her mom.

The tiny dog also wags her tail the whole time, as if to clarify that this is less about being sassy and more about getting her mom to join in. When her mom tells her, “Hey, you cannot slam things in our house,” Penny answers in the most Penny way possible — by slamming the toy again. Mom continues trying to discipline her, saying, “Hey, you have to be polite. You can’t slam it. Be gentle.” But, as you might have guessed, the little poodle slams the toy one last time for the video.

This happens because dogs often use very obvious signals when they want attention or play — and Penny seems to have figured out that dropping the toy, barking, and staring intensely gets a reaction every single time. Besides, her wagging tail indicates that she is excited and fully committed to getting her mom to throw that toy.

So, Penny just wanted one thing — getting mom to play, and she did her best to make her case.
