In a sweet Instagram video from user @flint.themainecoon, a fluffy Maine Coon cat makes himself very comfortable with his much larger dog sibling. The Labrador sits on the carpet like a patient saint — still and polite, and clearly trying not to encourage whatever is about to happen next — but the cat, on the other hand, has another plan.

Dog gets a lot of love from a cat in adorable video

In the video, the cat stands up on the dog’s front legs, stretches his paws up as if to ask for a hug, and extends them around the Lab’s neck. He then pulls himself in for what looks like a full-body sibling hug, showering the dog with what the caption claims are the cat’s “love nibbles.” As such, the caption swears, “They’re love nibbles I promise ?.”

However, the Lab barely moves. He turns his head away for a second, like he is hoping the cat will lose interest — but no luck as the cat clings on tighter and keeps going for what we can only describe as part cuddle, part playful ambush. Though he tries to move his face away, the dog stays calm through it all.

People in the comment section loved the size difference as well as the cat’s confidence, with one viewer joking, “He thinks he as big as the dogs.” Another aptly remarked, “It doesn’t matter what size they are, when it’s love, it’s love.”

This is common in a lot of cat-and-dog households. Cats often use gentle mouthing and little nips during play and affection, especially when they feel safe and attached. It can look dramatic when the one receiving these “love nibbles” is a dog with the patience of a saint, but as long as the Lab answers with pure tolerance, it is all okay.

By the end of the video, the dog still did not panic, snap, or even really protest against the cat’s cuddles — just like an older sibling waiting for the show to be over.
